This is the fourth novel in the series, following "Code Black Pearl," "Mission Osawa," and "The Afghan Hound," under the hashtag "Spyverse." While the first three novels served as introductory novels for the six main characters, "Operation Salazar" marks the first time two main characters are recurring: Nihal Singh and Ruby Bhatia.

Before the story, a few words about this series... Usually, a series revolves around a single character, accompanied by a few associates who appear alongside them in each story. However, "Spyverse" isn't a series about a single character, but rather, it's about an agency, conceived as an additional desk within "RAW," an external affairs agency that handles cases, and for which agents have been created modeled after "James Bond," "Ethan Hunt," and "Jason Bourne."

This is the program's inception, and currently, the number of Grade A and B members is thirteen—the main ones being Sangram Thapar, Aarav Akash, Nihal Singh, Ruby Bhatia, Rozina Ryan, and Sabina Shah. The agency is led by a Colonel-ranked individual named Rahul Acharya, who designed the program.

As main performers, all six individuals possess distinct temperaments, distinct styles, and unique self-improvement approaches. They undertake dozens of small missions individually, but for larger missions, they must complete them as pairs, with a few Grade B members available as accompaniments. The stories of "Spyverse" revolve around these key missions.

Operation Salazar is the story of a mission assigned to Nihal and Ruby, which requires them to travel to the South China Sea, and then unfolds across the sea, across Indonesia's Java, Sumatra, and Malaysia.

As is typical of this series, its themes are geopolitical—the subject of Operation Salazar also touches upon the political landscape that has long been causing turmoil in the South China Sea. China seeks dominance over this region, deeply disturbing some countries within the region. To take advantage of this situation, the United States increases its involvement in the region, further exacerbating the situation.

The story centers on a luxury cruise, a sea adventure for the elite. All arrangements are tailored to their needs, and tours are organized to their standards—which not only attracts important figures from neighboring countries for luxury, but also some prominent figures from foreign countries… including a political figure from India, who was on a secret trip to enjoy the cruise.

While the cruise was en route from the Riau Islands to Miri and Manila, it was suddenly hijacked one night, and all the VIPs were taken hostage. Nihal and Ruby are tasked with the safe return of their crew, for which they arrive in the South China Sea and begin their work with local support.

But as the story progresses, theories surrounding the incident begin to shift… sometimes it seems the hijacking was simply for money, sometimes it seems it's a political tug-of-war in the South China Sea. Sometimes it seems that America is at the root of this scandal, and sometimes it seems that China is behind it.

So what was the motive behind this hijacking? And if it was indeed linked to South China Sea politics, who was actually behind it? India was an outsider in this situation, and its agents were solely responsible for the safe return of its people. But did that happen?
